Northern Twistars Gymnastics
is the only gymnastics training facility for children and youth on the Iron Range. NTG’s mission is to encourage area children and youth to participate and pursue excellence in all aspects of gymnastics in a safe and friendly environment.

NTG is a member of USA Gymnastics (USAG) and follows USAG guidelines for our facility, our training programs, and competitions, and our coaches are USAG-Certified. We’re proud of the achievement of our Girls’ Competitive Team, which has qualified to compete at USAG-sanctioned meets since 2010.

After working in the food service industry in Minnesota and North Dakota, Lisa moved back to the area in 2004, and jumped back into gymnastics as assistant gymnastics coach for the MIB-V girls’ gymnastics high school team. Gwyn opened NTG in September 2008, a long-time dream of hers. She was first introduced to gymnastics at age 12. After high school, she attended college to become an elementary school teacher. While teaching school for 10 years, she continued to be involved in her high school team, first as a volunteer and by the age of 21, she was head coach. Besides coaching high school gymnastics, she organized youth gymnastics programs through community education and the YMCA. Gwyn continues to educate herself through workshops and classes, and is thrilled at the warm welcome the Iron Range has given to NTG. She invites children to try this positive, self-confidence-building sport. As Gwyn says, “Come and experience the world upside down—it’s amazing!”
